A fresh visual identity for @hannahwaring_architect, a Brisbane-based residential architecture practice. I worked with Hannah to define and capture her philosophy 'Nice Spaces for Nice People,’ and reflect her joyful approach to create room to play and grow in all her projects.
For the identity, I didn't want to design a monogram, with a view to as Hannah's practice grows it may evolve into more than HWA. With this in mind I created a logo icon that can grow into a recognisable brand asset beyond the practice name. Based on the logotype I explored how the letterforms can be reduced to basic shapes, and then morphed into a clean yet playful icon. When animated the dots will move around and through the spaces created by the vertical strokes in the icon, reflecting Hannah’s approach to creating ‘room to grow and play’ for her clients.
The website invites clients to discover Hannah's work and process in a playful and engaging manner. We paired Hannah's approachable tone of voice with an unexpected (yet familiar to locals) view of Brisbane for a welcoming and easily navigated initial touch point — with the aim to make clients curious and excited about the possibilities of bringing their dream home to life with, rather than feeling intimidated by the process of engaging an architect.
We were fortunate to collaborate with local photographer Samuel Van Dyke to capture authentic moments of delight, seen through Hannah’s loving eye for people and spaces and the pure joy we experience when we interact with ‘nice people in nice spaces’.
