SHILLINGTON CAMPUS MURAL

My teaching partner Nick and I were asked to design a mural for Shillington College’s Brisbane campus. We choose to combine custom typography, illustration and playful graphic elements to create an engaging artwork that would reveal its details over time. So as not to be overpowering when being looked at all day every day, we kept the line work light and in simple black and white.
We designed the mural remotely, working simultaneously in Figma to create the basic graphics, paired with custom type and illustrations created in Adobe Illustrator. The display typeface used is Nick’s typeface ‘Moonbase Alpha) which I collaborated on.
